Saskowski to lead Arc of Orleans – The Daily News Online: News

HOLLEY – Taking over the reins of The Arc of Orleans County is a good collaboration, said Donna Saskowski, as she made the announcement Friday night at the Arc of Orleans annual Best Friends Dinner.

Saskowski is also director of Genesee County ARC, and sharing her talents with both counties is the first such merger of services for The Arc in New York state, said former interim director Pattie Kepner.

“The governor is promoting a managed care system, and wants agencies to find ways to achieve their goals with less money, while providing the same quality of service,” Kepner said. “We are the first Arcs in the state to do this without being forced to.”

Kepner said both Arcs are in a unique position, being in a rural community and not having the level of support which is available in the cities.

Saskowski called the Best Friends Dinner “the event to go to.”

“I am very excited to be here tonight on such an important occasion and to be the Arc of Orleans County’s new executive director,” Saskowski said. “I have worked at Genesee ARC for 26 years, the last 11 of them as executive director, and I look forward to my dual role at both agencies.”

Kepner will return to her position as director of quality assurance.
